Introducing Grande Prairie Regional College

Located in Grande Prairie in the south of Alberta’s Peace Country, and 450kms Northwest of Edmonton, Grande Prairie Regional College (GPRC) is a publicly supported comprehensive community institution in northwestern Alberta providing opportunities in post-secondary education delivered through state-of-the-art career programs and specialty training.

As an educational facility in northwestern Alberta, GPRC helps meet the cultural, recreational, athletic and conferencing needs of the region in partnership with community and regional stakeholders. The institution will be an important skills development resource for Ironstone's Clear Hills Project due to its delivery of apprenticeship, pre-employment trades training and continuing education programs.

Established in 1966, the college now includes campuses in Fairview and learning centres in Edson, Grande Cache, Hinton and Jasper. GPRC offers a wide variety of career certificates and diplomas, university transfer studies, and several opportunities for on-campus degree completion at baccalaureate and master levels through collaborations with four-year universities. The College is an eCampusAlberta partner facilitating increased access to online learning opportunities for students.

The College encourages and supports applied research and innovation activities that complement and enhance teaching and learning in program areas and in industry sectors where its academic expertise enables such a contribution.
